Assistant Professors Miriam Ezenwa and Krista Jones to Receive New Investigator Awards from MNRS
Congratulations to UIC College of Nursing assistant professors, Dr. Miriam Ezenwa and Dr. Krista Jones, both of whom will be receiving new investigator awards from the Midwest Nursing Research Society (MNRS).
Dr. Miriam Ezenwa (Chicago) will be receiving new investigator awards from two MNRS interest groups, Pain & Symptom Management Research and Health of Diverse Populations Research at the upcoming MNRS conference April 16-19th in Indianapolis. There she will give two separate lectures, one to each of the research sections. Dr. Ezenwa comments, "These awards are testaments to the collaborative efforts with my multidisciplinary colleagues from Anthropology, Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, and Pharmacy; our dedicated research staff; and a reflection of the team’s partnership with our patients and their families."
Dr. Krista Jones (Urbana) will be receiving her new investigator award from the MNRS Public Health Research Interest Group (PH RIG). Dr. Jones will receive the award at the PH RIG section meeting at the upcoming MNRS conference April 16-19th in Indianapolis. At that time, she will present her clinical inquiry work on developing social networking sites to support health education messages regarding risky adolescent sexual behavior.
With more than 1,300 members, MNRS, or Midwest Nursing Research Society, is one of the largest and most influential nursing research organizations in the country, serving individuals in a 13-state Midwest region.
