Robin Johnson, DNP, APN, CPNP

Robin’s devotion to pediatric nursing stems from her nine years of clinical experience as a staff nurse at Lurie’s Children’s Hospital.  Her expertise lies in a multitude of medical conditions including: liver, kidney, intestinal transplants, short bowel syndrome, liver and kidney diseases and disorders, urology, orthopedic, pediatric surgery, ENT, and plastic surgery. Robin has a special interest in Intestinal Rehabilitation and Transplantation, and served as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner on a collaborative team at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. 

Outside of Robin’s nursing career, she enjoys participating in triathlons, running, reading, Illini sports, hanging out with family and friends, and taking her dog, Payton to the park or dog beach.

Current Area of Teaching

Robin is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Women, Children and Family Health Science. As a clinical instructor for NURS 355, Clinical Concepts and Processes in Children’s and Family Health, Robin provides clinical instruction to BSN students at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.

Robin also serves as a lab instructor for NURS 210 Health Assessment. During this course, Robin assists BSN students with physical assessment techniques, interviewing skills, and provides an introduction to medical terminology.
