UIC College of Nursing White Coat Ceremony

The White Coat Ceremony at the UIC College of Nursing is for incoming BSN and graduate-entry MS students. It is a formal occasion recognizing and affirming the students' commitment to becoming a professional nurse who provides compassionate and high-quality care. In addition to “cloaking” students with their UIC College of Nurisng lab coats, each student receives a lapel pin and collectively recites the UIC College of Nursing Oath, adapted from the Florence Nightingale Pledge and the American Nurses Association Code for Nurses.

The White Coat Ceremony is held on campus early in the fall semester and concludes with a joyful outdoor reception.
