Sheryl L. Stogis, Dr. P.H., RN

Dr. Stogis is currently an Assistant Professor for Administrative Studies in Nursing (MS) and the Executive Leadership Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Stogis teaches and develops curriculum for graduate level nursing administration. She has an extensive non-profit and health care background that includes more than 25 years of experience in executive management, operations analysis and redesign, consulting, project management, clinical care, and education. She has a background in quality improvement and patient safety, as well as creating and implementing organizational and system-wide measurement systems, leadership development programs including communication skills, delegation, conflict-management, coaching, team-building and compliance.

1998, Sheryl completed her Doctorate degree in Public Health- Health Management and Policy at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. Her Masters of Science in Public Service-Health Care Administration is from DePaul University in Chicago, IL and she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. She also obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English/Writing from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL.

Sheryl was the Chief Executive Officer of the Michigan Peer Review Organization (MPRO), a statewide, independent organization and an innovative leader in quality improvement, medical review, and education services. Previously Dr. Stogis held key management positions at the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the Regional Organ Bank of Illinois, in acute care hospitals, and in both the private and public sector of the health care industry. She began her career in health care as a Registered Nurse in the Chicago area.
