Post-DNP Certificate

The University of Illinois College of Nursing is developing a Post-Doctor of Nursing Practice Certificate designed for nurses who have already received a DNP degree.  Our certificate will allow DNP-prepared nurses to qualify for national credentialing in a specialty in which they are not currently credentialed.  Please note that the certificate is currently still in the proposal stage. We plan to offer the post-DNP Certificate in the following areas:

  • Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
  • Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner
  • Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Neonatal Nurse Practitioner
  • Nurse-Midwifery
  • Nurse-Midwifery/Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner
  • Pediatric Nurse Practitioner- Acute Care Program
  • Pediatric Nurse Practitioner- Primary Care Program
  • Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
  • Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner

We anticipate accepting applications for the Post-DNP Certificate for the fall 2018 semester. Applications for the Certificate should be available in late winter/early spring 2018.
