UIC Collaborative Study Looks at Reducing Pain Through Music

Can music encourage people to move even when moving is painful?  That is what a team of UIC researchers including College of Nursing's Dr. Eileen G. Collins intends to find out. As reported by UIC News, the goal of the study is "to see if music can help patients with peripheral artery disease -- which makes movement painful -- stick with an exercise regimen".

UIC News goes on to quote Prof. Collins, "We’re trying to find a way to use music to promote exercise and distract from the pain".
