CON Alum Lisa Kane Low Elected President of ACNM

Photo of Lisa Kane LowUIC College of Nursing Alum, Lisa Kane Low, CNM, PhD, FACNM, FAAN, has been elected President of the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM).  Dr. Low attended the Midwifery Program here at UIC, graduating in 1987.  Currently, she is Coordinator of the Nurse Midwifery Education Program at UMich.

“It is an honor," Dr. Low is quoted as saying in ACNM's announcement, "to be able to join the other members of the board to continue the many initiatives they have been leading to promote the role of midwives as leaders who can make a positive difference in women’s health outcomes”.

Dr. Low is now the third graduate from UIC's Midwifery Program to serve as ACNM's President.
