Aleeca Bell, a Professor at UIC's College of Nursing, appears as one of the researchers in the new documentary, "Microbirth" by Alto Films Ltd. In this look at the critical role that childbirth has on the microbiome and future health, Dr. Bell discusses the importance of bold research to address possible epigenetic and transgenerational effects of cesarean birth. The film was released on September 20th at several locations worldwide. Dr. Bell also appeared in person for a panel discussion at the Detroit screening of "Microbirth" hosted by the Nurse-Family Partnership Program within the Detroit Wayne County Health Authority.
