Application Process

Applicants must submit a UIC application by the application deadline in order to be reviewed. The application is available at http://admissions.uic.edu/graduate-professional.  On this page, you will select 'PHD Nursing' and you will be directed to the application.

Additional Application Materials

All application materials must be submitted electronically. Hard copy application documents will NOT be accepted. The following application materials must be electronically submitted by the application deadline or your application will not be reviewed.

  • Transcripts: All applicants must upload a single PDF containing copies of all transcripts. Unofficial copies are not accepted.  Please scan and upload your official transcripts directly to the application  The UIC Admissions Office will determine if your transcripts are acceptable.  Do NOT mail or e-mail transcripts to the UIC Admissions Office or to the College of Nursing.  Only uploaded PDF transcripts are accepted by UIC Admissions.  International students should upload copies of their original transcripts – UIC does not accept transcript evaluations from outside organizations.   • Nursing Supplemental Application: http://go.uic.edu/nursingsupplements
  • Three Letters of Recommendation: Applicants must provide the CON with the names and e-mail addresses for individuals providing recommendations. These individuals will then be given an upload link, asked to submit a letter on their own letterhead, and  referred to the questions asked in our recommendation prompt.  The prompt can also be viewed at: http://go.uic.edu/nursingsupplements
  • Current Resume or CV - Only PDF documents are accepted

College of Nursing Interview

All applicants will be contacted by the College of Nursing for an application interview.  The interview is a required part of the application process.  Applicants who do not sign up for an interview will not be considered for admission.
