Nancy Lowe, Janet Engstrom and Joyce Roberts, all three College of Nursing alumni, are highlighted for their research contributions in the 60th anniversary issue of the Journal of Midwifery & Women’s Health. As the journal explains:
"In midwifery circles, honoring the midwives who have gone before us is a tradition and a reminder of our responsibility to our profession and the women we serve. As part of the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) and the Journal of Midwifery & Women’s Health, this special year-long series will highlight US midwife researchers whose work has informed education and practice and resonated in the pages of this and other professional journals."*
The article goes on to list the three researchers featuring "only a few of the many studies that comprise their work". Nancy Lowe is listed under the research area, "Managing Labor Pain"; Janet Engstrom is listed under "Fundal Height Measurement"; And finally, Joyce Roberts is listed under "Second Stage Labor".
