Dr. Cynthia Reese Named Director of UIC CON Springfield Campus

Photo of Dr. ReeseDr. Cynthia Reese has been appointed Director of the new UIC CON Springfield Regional Campus. Dr. Reese will begin her appointment on June 16, 2015, pending Board of Trustees approval.

Dr. Cynthia Reese will join us from Illinois State University (ISU) where she serves as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Reese has five years of experience in higher education administration. She served as Associate Dean of Nursing from 2009-2014 at Lincoln Land Community College. In this role, she was the nurse administrator for an associate degree program (ADN) and a practical nursing program (PCN). She led the ADN and PCN programs through major curriculum revisions and directed the implementation of a rigorous standardized testing program throughout the ADN program, which resulted in an increase in NCLEX pass rates from 80% to 97% in one year.

Dr. Reese has approximately 15 years of experience teaching pre-licensure nursing students. Her teaching scholarship is focused in the area of clinical simulation, interprofessional education, and instrument development and measurement. Dr. Reese has disseminated her knowledge of simulation and other teaching methodologies through peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and national and regional presentations.

Dr. Reese will be a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Biobehavioral Health Science.
