  • Congratulations to Theresa Williams who will receive the UIC Silver Circle Teaching Excellence Award. This award has been given each year since 1966 to honor UIC faculty members chosen by the senior class for their outstanding teaching ability.

  • BSN seniors braved the 50 degree weather to take one last plunge together (literally) as a class before commencement in Chicago tomorrow.

  • The UIC College of Nursing Global Health Leadership Office organized a '2016 World Health Day Presentation and Reception' on Friday, 4/11.

  • The 2016 Judith Lloyd Storfjell Distinguished Award for Scholarly Practice was presented on April 8th to alumna Dr. Paula P. Meier, Director of the Clinical Research and Lactation Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Professor of Women, Children and Family Nursing and Professor of Pediatrics at Rush University Medical Center. 

  • The 2016 Quad Cities Spring Celebration Dinner held on Thursday, April 28th at the Stoney Creek Inn in Moline, IL. The Dinner is an annual event to honor the graduating class for their outstanding achievements, recognize Quad City scholarship recipients, and reconnect with Alumni and preceptors. Representatives from the regional Nursing campuses, as well as the main Chicago location, travel to Moline to congratulate the graduates and join in the merriment!

  • Dr. Cynthia Reese, Regional Director for the UIC College of Nursing's newest region in Springfield IL. explains in this short video how the partnership with Memorial Health System will serve to "make a difference in the healthcare of the citizens of central Illinois".  See video...

  • The 2016 Thai New Year (Songkran) Celebration was celebrated on Monday, 4 April 2016 (11:30 am – 01:00 pm) in the 3rd Floor Event Center.  Cultural dress was welcome and a light Thai lunch was served.

  • Can music encourage people to move even when moving is painful?  That is what a team of UIC researchers including College of Nursing's Dr. Eileen G. Collins intends to find out. As reported by UIC News, the goal of the study is "to see if music can help patients with peripheral artery disease -- which makes movement painful -- stick with an exercise regimen".

  • The Annual UIC College of Nursing Year in Review celebrates the many accomplishments of the faculty and staff over the previous academic year. The Annual Preceptor Recognition Event was held on Thursday, April 7th from 5:00pm – 7:00pm in the 3rd Floor Event Center.

  • The UIC CON Job Fair was held on Monday, April 4th from 4:30-6:30 pm.  It was open to all current students and alumni.
