  • Photo of JeanSince 1966, the Silver Circle Award has been presented to some of UIC’s best teachers. Winners, who are honored at their college commencements, receive $500 and their names join a long list of distinguished colleagues. But what makes the award especially meaningful is its selection committee: the graduating seniors.

     

  • Event announcement The 2017 Thai New Year (Songkran) Celebration was celebrated on Monday, 17 April 2016 (11:30 am – 1:00 pm) in the 3rd Floor Event Center.

     

     

  • Registration is now available for the Physical Examination Class.  The class combines the best of both worlds:  All material is available online in an interactive format -- plus two days with faculty for demos, practice & questions.

     

  • Speakers talking to students on the 3rd fl event center.Nurse managers shared advice on job search strategies and how to succeed in the field.  The event took place on Monday, April 10th, in the 3rd Floor Event Center.

     

  • The UIC College of Nursing held its Annual World Health Day celebration on Monday, April 3, 2017. This year’s event theme was “Depression, Let’s Talk.” The keynote speaker, Dr. Frances Hughes, CEO of the International Council of Nurses, spoke on the global impact of mental health issues.

     

  • The Alumni and Student Reception was held on Wednesday, March 29 at Revolution Brewing (2323 N. Milwaukee Ave.) The event provided an opportunity to network and mingle with students, alumni, and faculty while enjoying appetizers and libations, tour the facility, and celebrate alumni with milestone anniversaries.

  • Photo of Dr. FerransCarol Ferrans, PhD, RN, FAAN, professor in the Department of Biobehavioral Health Science and the college’s associate dean for research, has been selected as the Harriet H. Werley Endowed Chair for Nursing Research in the UIC College of Nursing. The Harriet H. Werley Endowed Chair is a high honor and is designated for a faculty member who has an outstanding program of nursing research and leadership.


  • The UIC CON Job Fair was held on Tuesday, Feb. 28th from 10:30am-12:30pm.  It was open to all current students and alumni.

  • Standings of both the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program and the Master’s program at the UIC College of Nursing rose significantly in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings of graduate schools, released this Tuesday (3/14).

  • Student Research Day 2017 was held on Friday, March 3, 2017.  It began at 9am with presentations given concurrently in three different locations.  JoEllen Wilbur, PhD '84, MS '75 was the keynote speaker.  Her presentation was titled, "Love self, embrace health: The Women’s Lifestyle Physical Activity Program - 25 years of improving midlife women’s health".  Following the keynote presentation, research awards were given out.
