Bio

Ms. Burt is a graduate of Georgetown University as well as a graduate of the Adult Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Nursing. She is an ANCC board certified Adult Nurse Practitioner. Ms. Burt is an instructor in the Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Program, working closely with primary care Nurse Practitioner students as an adviser and mentor throughout their program and most specifically during their practicum courses.

Current Area of Teaching

Ms. Burt is a clinical instructor in the courses NUSP 532 and NUPR 539/540/541. She teaches nurse practitioner students in the Advanced Health Assessment course. She also arranges clinical placements and supervises students in the Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Program throughout their clinical practicum. She coordinates on-campus activities to compliment the practicum courses, such as simulation, standardized patients, and case-based clinical conferences.

Service / Practice

Ms. Burt is a nurse practitioner in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago Hospital and Health Sciences System, specializing in Observation Medicine in the Clinical Decision Unit.
